I grew up in Atlanta, Ga but my parents were from Chicago. I had a grandfather, he was married to my grandmother, but not my blood relative, who was from France. He was a character out of a movie. Lou loved red headed women and he was an amazing photographer and artist that would be famous today if he had sold any of his amazing work. He traveled all over the world and painted almost everything he saw.
My stepmother displays most of Lou’s paintings in her home. When I am visiting her I can’t really believe that some of these are paintings, they look more like photographs. I own his cameras, including his 8mm camera and projector, along with a 16mm one that has all the accessories with it, which are still in perfect condition.
Lou Pijon was his name and I’m sad that he didn’t share his art with the world. His wish was that when he died he wanted to be buried in France. While on vacation, back in 1960, he had a heart attack and died and my grandmother had him buried there.
I wanted to share with you some of his incredible paintings. One day I will own some of his beautiful work.
My sweet father was also a wonderful painter. His style was completely different but I remember being on vacation and he would pull his paints and easel out and just begin painting.
Needless to say I can’t even face paint but I am proud to share his paintings also.
