Salmon Patties (Fried)

Fried salmon patties are really delicious and are budget friendly. My family loves them and we have a couple of salmon patty nights per year to get together and feast on them, along with Cole slaw, mashed potatoes and fried okra.

Salmon Patties

Crispy and Delicious
Course: Main Course

Ingredients

  • 1-2 cans Canned salmon
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • oil

Method

  1. Open can and pour out the oil that’s in the can. With your hand, divide the salmon down the middle and you will see the row of bones. Remove them. They are not dangerous, so if you don’t get them out, they won’t hurt you.
Crumble the salmon all together, then pour buttermilk over and stir.
Pour flour into mixture. I don’t want it dry, just enough to hold it together better.
Scoop out a patty size and pat it between your floured hands and place into hot oil. Just enough oil to cover bottom of skillet.
Fry on one side until brown, then turn and fry on other side.
    Drain on paper towel.
